16th January 2010

I'm doing a bit of updating and should be overhauling the drawings section tomorrow... It's pretty dated!
I'm working on a few things currently; my own work, plus a piece for an exciting fundraising exhibition titled Skullduggerous, happening to raise funds for the Bhopal Medical Appeal.
I was invited to take part after I had a little rant on my blog about Bhopal and basically decided to donate money to the medical appeal rather than to the John Moores prize money, because let's face it, I'm not getting selected for that any time soon and view my entry fee as a donation rather than anything else.
The exhibition will run for two weeks from the 4th of March and is being held at Pure Evil Gallery in London with all print sales to be handled by Exhibit X, who promote contemporary art/photography and handle limited edition print sales.
The Medical Appeal funds a clinic in Bhopal which is the only place that sufferers of the 1984 gas disaster, and of the present day water poisoning, can receive free treatment.
The site was never cleaned up, so every time the rains come, chemicals are washed into the water supply, supplies that people drink and bathe in.
"More than 120,000 people still suffer from ailments caused by the accident and the subsequent pollution at the plant site. These ailments include blindness, extreme difficulty in breathing, and gynecological disorders."*
Like many things, it just shouldn't happen in this day and age and no-one will take responsibility for cleaning up the site, which is quietly rusting away in the background and still causing such horror.

20th November 2009

Nothing much to report apart from a show over December - Jan at Headspace@Eggspace, Liverpool. To quote their website "Eggspace is a popular meeting place at the heart of Liverpool's culture. It boasts one of the most panoramic views of the city and is a unique fusion of an independent gallery space and cafe, with a relaxed and bohemian atmosphere." The show's titled Winter Blues 4; private view, Wednesday 2nd December 7 - 9pm.

I was also contacted about possibly exhibiting as part of a children's arts/literary festival in August 2010 near Rudyard Lake, Staffordshire. It sounds pretty magical and I do hope to be able to take part. Their website can be found at www.justsofestival.org.uk - sorry, I can't embed links here.

19th October 2009

It's been a pretty quiet month here mainly due to my being a little under the weather. Can't seem to paint very well when I'm not feeling good...
Anyway! I decided that I hadn't enough coming up exhibition-wise so I did a bit of applying and trawling the old Axis and a-n listings and will be exhibiting at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield December 2009 - January 2010.
The show's called The Big Hang and when they say big they mean big!
"In a pre and post Christmas selling exhibition, Bank Street Arts will transform all eleven gallery and project spaces into one extravagant ‘Big Hang’. The intent is to completely 'fill' the space in a kind of antithesis of a typical white cube hang."

And here's something good.. My solo show at RED Gallery in Hull opens this Friday (30th October) 7 - 9pm, so feel free to come along for a glass of wine and some art-talk.
RED Gallery of Contemporary Art, 19 Osborne Street, Hull, HU1 2NL.
The RED gallery can be found behind the shopping store Primark and near the entrance to the Princes Quay car park.

13th September 2009

I've been burrowed away deep in the studio over the last few weeks working on new paintings, some of which have now been uploaded. The paintings are really evolving at the moment and rushing away from me in some respects as they get more and more abstract. I'm really, really happy with them though...
So, one week to Hereford. It's all go!

Work's been hung at KRO Piccadilly and Unit 5 (Westworld) at Triangle in Manchester as part of this year's Manchester Artists' Fair. Both exhibitions feature a hell of a lot of great art and come highly recommended by me. Go see them if you're in Manchester! Have a pint of Fruli if you're in KRO too - that stuff's delicious.

23rd August 2009

I've had a nice busy month of painting and preparing for my shows at the Courtyard and at Painter Paynter Gallery in Preston - both are to happen in September - October.. The piece on the homepage, Lottie, is completely brand new and destined for one of these spaces.

Work is currently hanging at the wonderful little treasure of a space, the Borough Museum in Newcastle under Lyme. They had some unused space and decided to hang a load of tiny paintings by local artists. I love the Borough Museum!

Oh, and I had to buy a camera because I broke my existing one and all my images were wrong colour-wise. The new camera understands what it's seeing and what I want it to do; I'm thrilled to bits with it as I'm an awful photographer.

July 21st 2009

Haven't any big news although my work's been selected for this year's fringemk Painting Prize catalogue (not the exhibition itself). Good stuff! I'm just keeping busy and making work for my show at The Courtyard Centre for the Arts in Hereford this September. Lots of big pieces, so watch this space.. Well, don't watch too closely, it'll take me a while..

June 21st 2009

I've updated my drawings page slightly, there's a lot more work to do but I'll get round to that eventually.

I'm working on a lot of new paintings at the moment, some for my solo show at the Courtyard Centre for the Arts in Hereford (which is happening this September), and others just for me, figuring things out using paint.

In the next few months I will be showing my paintings in Manchester and Leeds. The Leeds exhibition is actually more of a selling weekend than an exhibition and is scheduled for the 3rd - 5th of July at Leeds Met Gallery. Opening hours: Fri 3 – 7pm, Sat and Sun 11am – 4pm
The Manchester exhibition is happening as part of Manchester Artists' Fair; I'm just waiting for venue confirmation and exact dates. Should be good!

Finished my bookmarks for the Bookmarks VII Project - all 100 of them! These will be distributed to the following venues:

1. IMPACT Multi-disciplinary Printmaking Conference 2009 / Bower Ashton library
2. Lyrikkabinett Munich. A special library for lyrics
3. Eureka Books 426 Second Street • Eureka, USA
4. SNAP Studio, Bristol
5. Glasgow School of Art Library
6. National Irish Visual Arts Library, Dublin
7. Howard Gardens library, UWIC Cardiff
8. Door No.3, Print and Book Arts Studio, The Methow Valley Community Center, Twisp, USA
9. Yateley Library, School Lane, Yateley GU46 6NL 10. Washington Elementary School, Woodburn, Oregon

Oh, and my exhibition at Waterside Arts Centre has finally been settled and finalised date-wise. It is now scheduled for Summer 2010 which gives me time to plan and prepare. I met the curators of the space twice to discuss the exhibition and we agreed on showing a wide variety of my work: drawings, books, larger paintings and small paintings. The space is gorgeous - I've been allocated the Gallery Bar area which is big, incredibly well lit and nice and modern.

June 1st 2009

Wow, I'm really doing well with updating my website aren't I? Ha ha..
Well, I've had a nice busy month with work in exhibitions both in London and Berlin. I also learnt that my painting Debbie was voted as the joint winner of the public vote at the Needhams Open exhibition - a very nice surprise!

I'd forgotten that I was down as a contributor for this year's UWE Bookmarks project (an incredible project), the content of which just seems to get better and better each year. I am a little scared that my contribution won't make the grade. The deadline looms...

27th April 2009

I realised recently that I had nothing lined up exhibition-wise for the rest of this year, bar my solo shows, so I got busy looking and applying for various opportunities.
Recently I had work selected for a show at turn-berlin Gallery in Berlin, titled Mingle Configuration. The Gallery is dedicated to showing groups of painters and for their current run of exhibitions are showing guest artists, wholly unconnected with the space. Mingle Configuration will run from the 22nd May to the 10th of June - private view on the 22nd (Friday).

Another exhibition I will be taking part in (I found out today), is On Your Wall at Leeds Met Gallery towards the end of June.

Inspired by Nature at Chapel Gallery in Ormskirk finished last week and was a great success. I was glad to have been offered the chance to exhibit there as it really is a gorgeous space with a fabulous gift shop!

23rd March 2009

So I've finally updated my 2009 paintings page! Just got the drawings and artist book sections to work on now...
The exhibition at the New Vic Theatre finished on Saturday; I really liked showing there and will do so again in the future I think. That's where a lot of the new pieces now on the 2009 page came from - I'd not photographed them prior to hanging and the photos I took whilst at the exhibition itself were awful.
The only problem with getting work back from exhibitions and not having seen it for a while is that I get strong urges to paint over pieces. Two from Saltburn have already been re-done and another is in the firing line as I really don't think I like it at all! I still haven't got the painting 'Elsie' back from London either, but when I do it's going straight back into the studio for some work and coming off this site.

I entered this year's Celeste Prize on a whim a few weeks ago. I have no idea why I did it as it cost about £40.. I learnt a lesson there - a hard £40 lesson! Whoops.

I realised the other day that I was supposed to be exhibiting at Bankley Gallery in Levenshulme this month but had forgotten somehow and hadn't heard from the curator (who I know is busy with his own practice...). That will definitely not be happening now.

24th February 2009

I have been very bad at updates recently as I've been quite busy with a commission and producing a series of paintings for several different shows and to replace the depleted stock currently available to purchase from the online galleries. Speaking of online galleries, I'm now working with The Canvas Lounge, a fabulous Midlands-based company who sell striking editioned contemporary prints on canvas and originals too. I recommend taking a look - it's a great site!
But back to physical galleries... Two exhibitions (featuring a lot of my work) opened recently at both the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle - under - lyme and Saltburn Gallery, Saltburn - by - the - Sea.

Inspired by Nature at Chapel Gallery, Ormskirk opens this Saturday and will include 7 of my paintings.
My painting 'Debbie' has been selected as a finalist in the Needham's Open Art 2009 competition which focuses on new and emerging artists. Only 13 were selected so that was nice news.... The exhibition is to take place in April.

Oh, and I've been to Venice too! It was amazing, inspiring and I'm really enjoying reading about it now I'm back and know what the book is talking about (Francesco's Venice)!

18th January 2009

It's been a nicely filled year so far, with deliveries and collections of work to and from various galleries; lots of painting and attempts at organising myself because I have taken rather a lot on.
I've taken down my show at Deco 5 Gallery, brought the work home then taken it up to Saltburn Gallery for a two person show opening on the 6th of February. I enjoyed the trip to Saltburn-by-the-Sea as it was great to see the light gallery space, the sea and also the skies there and back. I used to spend a lot of time driving whilst at Uni, often on wide, open roads, dual carriageways etc. and always kept my camera on my lap so I could sneakily take random photos as I was driving. This really informed the work I was producing, there were lots of blotchy dark sections on the eventual prints, cack off the windscreen, odd layers of light filtering through... I'm going to take lots on my next trip to Saltburn.

Anyway! There's lots coming up, I seem to have also turned a small corner with the paintings I'm making at the moment which, for me, is fabulous.
Titles this year are coming mostly from Eddie Stobart lorries, difficult and stupid to try and read in the car on the M6 on my own but good with a passenger! My favourite so far has been Mildred.

7th December 2008

I've been a pretty busy artist recently which has meant my being rubbish at updating my news section...
My show is now up at Deco 5 Gallery in Whitstable, running until January 15th 2009; work is also currently showing at Saltburn Gallery, Saltburn-by-the-sea and at Ground Restaurant, London.
For the beginning of 2009 I will be showing paintings at Saltburn Gallery, Chapel Gallery in Ormskirk and will be working on the solo shows for the New Vic, Newcastle-under-lyme and Bankley Gallery, Levenshulme. Work's also off to New York for Art Raw Gallery's Inaugural exhibition and I'm sure there'll be artist book activity! Incidentally, Sitting Room's still going and will be showing again in Mexico soon.
The Sheffield Artists' Book Prize will also be holding on to the exhibited books (including mine) and exhibiting them in 2009 as part of the Leeds Artists' Book Fair.
I will be working hard from now until Christmas on a new body of work, we'll see how it goes!

17th October 2008

It seems like ages since I've written down any news....
I will be showing work with Newbloodart this November at their space, The Lightbox. Not sure which works will be shown yet but a decision will be made quite soon.
Work's also been selected for a show titled Inaugural at Art Raw Gallery in New York City next year in February/March, 100's of artists will show their work at this event. The gallery are holding this show to coincide with several art fairs happening in NYC.

23rd September 2008

Well! Lots of goings-on since my last post here including a lovely weekend at Birmingham Arts Fest where three paintings were shown and a trip to Aylesbury, Bucks for Awful/Fantastic's Looking, Thinking, Drawing exhibition which is on in the Main Gallery at Queen's Park Arts Centre until the 13th of October.
Due to unforseen circumstances my exhibition 'Altostratus' at the Burslem School of Art has had to end early. Several paintings from this series will be shown at Deco 5 Gallery, Kent later this year.
I recieved news that the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle - Under - Lyme are to show my work in February/March next year which is excellent news.
Two paintings will also be shown at Buckinghamshire County Museum in Aylesbury this November in an exhibition titled Pavilion II.

Other really good news is that my work is now available from Newbloodart.co.uk, a totally unique emerging-contemporary-artist focused site. I recommend you take a look! (There's a lot of work on there I would love to own!)

5th September 2008

Today my solo show Altostratus was installed at the Burslem School of Art in Staffordshire and will be on display from Monday the 8th to Friday the 26th of September.
The School of Art is located on Queen Street Burslem, opposite the library. Images of the installed work can be found in the Paintings section of my site.
Opening Times: Mon - Thurs: 9AM - 8PM
Friday: 10AM - 4PM
Closed Sat/Sun

Next weekend is Birmingham Arts Fest and as previously mentioned, some of my paintings will be on show as part of this at ArtSpace Gallery at the Council House, City Centre. Should be a nice weekend, there's a lot happening over there!

I'm currently unaware as to whether the Manchester Artists' Fair will be going ahead as I've heard nothing more about it and have emailed the organisers to no reply. It was supposed to have been happening mid-September, oh well...

24th August 2008

I've been offered a solo show at Deco 5 Gallery, Kent, this October - November, more details to follow, opening times and exact dates etc.

5 of my drawings will be shown at the exhibition Looking, Thinking, Drawing, a show organised by awful/FANTASTIC! a newly formed, artist-led initiative based in Aylesbury, Bucks. They aim to present themed art shows to explore and respond to contemporary art issues in alternative exhibiting sites and venues.

13th August 2008

I'll be showing work at an exhibition running as part of this year's Birmingham Arts Fest to be held at the Council House from the 12th of September to the 14th.

Also, subject to the space recieving an Arts Council grant, I've been offered a 4 week solo show at RED Gallery, Hull in 2009. RED Gallery is an excellent contemporary space that's been running since 1997, fingers crossed for them.

10th July 2008

A selection books from the artists' book exhibition Re: have travelled to artworks-MK in Milton Keynes where they'll be on show until the 14th of August. The exhibition is titled Artists' Books (Experimental books by artists). The other half of Re: is off to the Hertfordshire College of Art - Summer 2008, then the entire exhibition is going to the University of Portsmouth in November. I have no idea whether my book is going to be in Hertfordshire or Milton Keynes!

I've also had one of my books selected for an the Sheffield Artists' Book Prize, an open submission exhibition held in conjunction with, and as part of, the Off the Shelf Festival which takes place annually in Sheffield during the months of October and November. The exhibition will run for 3 weeks from 16th October to 6th Nember 2008.

Oh! And the exhibition Sitting Room which began at Alsager Arts Centre in 2006 is now over, finishing at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. The show was supposed to be touring next to Argentina or to the second planned venue in Mexico but this will no longer happen because the books were detained by customs on their way in from the US... It sounds like they had a lot of problems actually getting the books to the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. Customs would only release the books to the University on the condition that they would be sent straight back to the UK after this exhibition... I suppose the customs offices in Mexico probably have quite a lot to deal with and probably don't like weird things like artists' books...

28th June 2008

I've been offered a solo show at Bankley Gallery and studios in Levenshulme, Manchester. The running of the space has recently been taken over by one of the artists in the studio complex and they're organising a new exhibition programme, thinking of the gallery as a sort of project space.

Dates have yet to be confirmed as I have to decide what suits me, the space is huge so I'm thinking sometime in 2009 which'll give me time to make some larger, more adventurous pieces. It'll tie in nicely with the show at The Courtyard which is in September 2009 and for which I was going to start on some larger paintings very soon anyway!

7th June 2008

Well, I'm back from America and working hard on new paintings for my solo show at the Burslem School of Art this September.

Dates have been confirmed for the Private Exhibition taking place as part of the Manchester Artists' Fair at 'Three Piccadilly' which is opposite Piccadilly train station. This will run over the weekend of the 19th of September this year.

Saltburn Artists' Projects have also been in touch and will be showing a selection of my work during their selling show later this year which will run from the 11th of November to the 4th of January 2009.

15th May 2008

Tomorrow I fly to New York for a week to see my artist/curator friend Rachel who's currently doing an internship with the Guggenheim Museum. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of paintings!

It's the Private View of this year's Staffordhsire Open Art exhibition at Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford this Friday. I have one painting on show in this exhibtion which usually shows a nice eclectic mix of styles and runs till the 13th of July.
Also happening while I'm away is the selling show On Your Wall Too at Leeds Met Gallery where you can go along and have a drink whilst perusing the artworks on show. Work can be purchased and taken straight away rather than waiting for the show to end.
On Your Wall Too opens on Friday the 23rd (5 - 7pm) and runs over the weekend closing on the 25th.

In other news, Artshed Gallery (New Milton, Hampshire) are having such a good response from my work that they're keeping it to show for another month until the 28th of June. The Gallery have also managed to get an image of one of my paintings into May's Hampshire Life magazine to promote their New Talent exhibition which is excellent news!

8th May 2008

I have been included on the great online arts resource, re-title.com. Re-title.com is a new information resource for emerging contemporary artists, curators, writers and galleries providing both an artist's directory and an up to date visual guide to exhibitions around the world. For more information please see my links section (there are some amazing painters on re-title)..
In other news, it's the Private View of the artists' book exhibition 'Re' tomorrow night at The Gallery, University of Northampton. The exhibition opens to the public on the 12th. Images of the books are all on the We Love Your Books website and the catalogue will be available to download there too in a week or so.

1st May 2008

Work selected for the Staffordshire Open Art exhibition at Shire Hall Gallery, Stafford. The exhibition is Shire Hall Gallery's annual showcase for artistic talent in the County and I'm really pleased to be involved this year! The gallery has a shop packed full of gorgeous things for gifts or treats, I recommend it!
The exhibition runs from the 17th of May to the 13th of July.

22nd April 2008

The exhibition 'New Talent' opened today at Arshed, New Milton. This exhibition runs until the 19th of May and features 4 small canvases by me.
A selection of recent work will be on show at Leeds Met Gallery over the weekend of the 23rd of May this year. The show's called On Your Wall Too and is the follow up to the gallery's successful selling show in 2007.

6th April 2008

Recieved notification that my work will be included in this year's Manchester Art Fair at a Private Exhibition that's being organised as part of the event. Exact dates and location are still being finalised for this. I'll aslo have a piece of artwork in the Fair's Charity Auction.

I'm currently working on a new body of work, some on canvas, some on board and trying to break free from the colour blue! It's a gradual process and I doubt I'll ever shake blue off totally!

24th March 2008

Great news! I've been selected Abstract EXPOsure's next exhibition!
Abstract EXPOsure is a quarterly online juried exhibition for abstract artists only. It was created in direct reponse to the lack of an exclusive abstract venue and functions as an online international gallery-without-walls.
The site is fantastic and each quarterly exhibition features the work of only 15 artists.
The exhibition runs from the 1st of April to the 30th of June 2008 and from July onwards will be viewable in the archive section of the site.

In other news, my book 'Stamps and Rejections' has been selected for the next exhibition curated by 'We Love Your Books'.
Titled, Re:, the exhibition is of experimental artists' books made in response to the theme of words beginning with RE. My book is about rejection and features stamps from exhibition refusals along with copied rejective text. The book can be viewed in my Artist's Books section.
We Love Your Books have a wonderful history of crazily creative book exhibitions with fantastic catalogues, I've added a link to their site where all the books can be viewed.
Re: runs from the 12th - 29th of May 2008 at The Gallery, University of Northampton.

9th March 2008

Success at the 11th Contemporary Artists' Book Fair this weekend in Leeds. My new books got an excellent reception and I met a lot of lovely people. Quite a number recognised me and my work from the exhibition 'From Book to Book' which opened on the 6th at Leeds Art Gallery.

I've also had work selected for the second UAMO Art Festival in Munich, a quirky exhibition that I'm really pleased to be involved in.

Work was also selected today for an exhibition at VIEw from the Top Gallery in Nottingham titled 'Hidden Art'. Two paintings are to be shown, (Flo and Mo from my 2007 gallery) alongside an eclectic mix of photography, print and painting. My sister, Sam will also be showing one of her paintings. The curators remembered us from the 'FRESH' exhibition we took part in last year and were pleased to see some abstract paintings!

29th February 2008

The online show 'Restful Alertness, Abstract Art Today', hosted by Rhonda Schaller Studio opens today and runs to the 27th of March. The show is part of the gallery's 'current abstractions' series of online curated exhibitions.

I've also had work selected for a group show titled 'New Talent' which is happening in April at Artshed Gallery, New Milton, Hampshire.

Two new paintings have been uploaded to my 2008 gallery, titled 'Helena' and 'Leah', one of which will be exhibited in i-Candy Arts' new gallery/shop space in Hastings. The shop opens on the 1st of March and I'll post in here when my work is scheduled to appear there!

I am also busy preparing work for the 11th Contemporary Artists' Book Fair which takes place at the Parkinson Court, University of Leeds, Friday 7th and Staurday 8th of March.. It should be a really good couple of days with a broad range of book making styles.. Over 70 book artists will be showing their work, both originals and multiples.

23rd February 2008

The final selection of artists' books for the 'From Book to Book' exhibition has been made and mine's been included for exhibition at Leeds Art Gallery! I'm really pleased about this as I submitted one of my 'usual' books, canvas edges, sewn and scribbled in. I wrote about my relationship with books and drew pictures of things I've found in my second-hand books.
The exhibition opens on the 6th of March and will run to the 20th of April. 46 books have been selected in total and these will be displayed on a bespoke stand in the main entrance gallery.
I will add images of the catalogue and flyer for the exhibition once I recieve them.

7th February 2008

My work is to be featured on Kulturprozess, a cultural online magazine which includes reviews, interviews and information about art, film, literature and music from Europe and around the world. I'll add a link once my work's up.

7th December 2007

Work selected to be included in Rhonda Schaller Studio's online curated project, 'Restful Alertness - Abstract Art Today'.
The show will be launched in their Projects Room Gallery 2 from February 29th - March 27th next year and will be archived on the site for a minimum of 2 years.

Exhibitions happen both traditionally (in the actual gallery space) and online in the gallery's two 'Project Room' spaces.

9th November 2007

Tonight is the 'Five Toasters High' Autumn Art Auction.
This is happening at the Adelphi, Leeds, starting at 8pm. Two of my paintings are going under the hammer along with some other fantastic artwork. Should be a good night!

Work is off to D21's 'SALON 2007', an exhibition at D21 (gallery) in Liepzig, Germany.

28th October 2007

Work selected for inclusion on 'artselector.com', a visual directory and promotional resource for all those professionally involved in contemporary fine art.
Also selected for ArtBank.com, an international site for artists to showcase their work.

Work donated to 'Visual AIDS: Postcards From the Edge Benefit 2007'. The annual exhibition and sale raises public awareness of AIDS through the visual arts, simultaneously creating funding to help them continue their work.

I discovered today that one of my paintings has sold at 'MASTERWORKS 2007' which is lovely news!

My artist multiples have been distributed through the Hayvend project and accordingly, my work has now been documented in their web archive. See my links page for more details.

New painting uploaded, 'Dinah', in my 'Curvature 2006 - 2007' gallery.

14th October 2007

Work selected for the second 'Five Toasters High' Autumn Art Auction at the Adelphi pub in Leeds on the 9th of November.
Five Toasters High are a group of Leeds based artists aiming to give fellow artists a platform to sell their work and buyers a chance to view and purchase original art in their local public house! Great stuff. The catalogue of works up for auction is available on the fivetoastershigh website!

A framed drawing is to be included in 'Allotments', an exhibition at Harrington Mill Studios, Long Eaton, Nottingham. This will take place from the 14th - 16th of December and is touring in 2008.

'MASTERWORKS 2007' opened yesterday at Swipers Gulley Vineyard and Restaurant, ELTHAM, Australia. My paintings both got there safely!
I've added a link to the MASTERWORKS website, all the artworks can be viewed there.

10th October 2007

The exhibition 'Sitting Room' opens today in the AKI, Acadamy of Fine Arts, Enschede, Netherlands.
Two of my books are included in the show, the opening of which marks the beginning of it's international tour.

Incidently, a girl at the Manchester Artist's Book Fair recognised the style of my books from 'Sitting Room'! That was lovely as my books are rather ragged yet distinctive (in my opinion anyway - it was nice to find someone shared it!).

2nd October 2007

Opening of the LautieriMoores Open exhibition which is taking place at The Gallery In Cork Street, London. The show runs for one week only.

22nd September 2007

Three new paintings uploaded; Flossie Bobs, Flo and Mo. All are located in my 2006 - 2007 gallery.

16th September 2007

This week, ten pieces of my work are off to an exhibition in Altrincham titled, 'Standing Room Only'. Four new paintings are going (not yet up on the site) and a selection of previous work.

In two weeks, on Saturday the 29th of September, I will be showing at the second Manchester artist's book fair. This is to take place at the Holden Gallery from 11.30am - 6pm.
In total, 45 book artists will be showing, there will be a pop up workshop, performance and the MMU special collection of artist's books.
I love book art so I'm quite excited!

10th September 2007

My website has been selected for inclusion on wotartist.com, whose sole aim is to promote some of the best artists currently exhibiting on the internet.
Wotartist was recently voted at number 5 in TIME Magazine's 50 Best Websites 2007.

7th September 2007

My work, Lulu, (purchased from the FRESH Art & Design exhibition in Nottingham), is off to 'Grand Designs Live' at the NEC in Birmingham!
(Exhibition runs from the 5th - 7th October '07)

19th August 2007

I'm currently working on new paintings for exhibitions in London, Manchester and Altrincham, all of which will take place throughout September.

I'm also busy sorting packaging and shipping for two paintings selected for 'Masterworks 2007', an exhibition in Eltham, Australia which I'm really excited about. Shame I can't be shipped over with the work really!!!

Also, I recently recieved the offer of a solo show at The Courtyard in Hereford. This is scheduled for the 24th September - 24th October 2009, so there's plently of time for me to produce some stunning paintings for the space.
I've added a link to The Courtyard's exhibition page as images of the gallery space can be viewed there. (See my links section)
